Flat Battery....!
Hi All,
Have just tried to start the Symbol but seems that the battery for some reason is flat. The guy I purchased it from did say that he has only used it once or twice in the last year so presumably this is the cause, ( Total mileage 23,000...8 yr old ). I have also just found out that it is the original battery. When I picked it up I drove it for about 3 hours so would have thought a decent charge would have gone in although maybe it's just not holding it? The battery is a Varta 75ah. Should I get a higher ah? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Flat Battery....!
Mine was about that age with similar mileage when it failed.
It would charge up for a few days but then let me down!
Replaced with similar from a motor factors, three year warrenty (lot cheaper than Hal...ds) about £80
I would get a new one, you will be surprised at the difference.

Re: Flat Battery....!
I would recommend a Bosch replacement from Alpha-Batteries.co.uk
The last one we bought for my daughter's car cost £40 less than Halfords for exactly the same battery !
Our local Motor Factor sells rebranded Chinese ones, and a lot go back under warranty

I've purchased from Alpha Batteries before, v good prices aa excellee delivery.85A is now pretty standard and will be sensible for your van. Just check physical size and terminal layout.
