Fold-down worktop - Page 2 Empty Duetto Work Top

Post by Gerry Kane Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:41 pm

Hi everyone. This is my first post, as only joined last night.
I solved this problem by buying a piece of matching worktop from the stores at A/S. Picture the work surface nearest the rear door, cut board to this width, measure from toilet compartment wall to worktop, add two inches. This will be the length of new work suface.
Purchase from caravan dealer a bracket used for tuggers tables. This consists of two sections of aluminium extrusion, as in male and female. Cut these to size, attach male section to worktop, and female to toilet wall. This bit I did by using Pop Rivets, they dont have to go in the very thin board very far to attaind a solid fix. Once fixed introduce Male to Female, fold down and rest other end on fixed worktop.
You will need to lay new board on top of fixed suface to find correct level on wall. When not in use mine slides into wardrobe taking litttle space. Hope this is reasonably clear !!!

Fold-down worktop - Page 2 Empty Worktop Complete

Post by Harper22 Tue Jan 15, 2013 5:24 pm

Just thought I would share my worktop "mod" i know its not the largest that people have put in but i wanted to not impinge on the sink/fridge. Allow room for the curtains to hang nicely when open and still have room to navigate into the washroom :-)

Its spot on for the mini halogen oven and at some point i will add an extra socket low down in washroom wall for the kettle to save shifting things off the sink top all the time :-)

The bathroom wall, facing the fridge in my FIAT Ducato Harmony is at least 1/2" thick. I have just removed a screw to check and they are at least 1/2" long. The dropdown worktop was I believe, factory fitted and also has a fold down back rest. There are some pictures on this site somewhere if you would care to have a look...
