Access Spare Wheel
Thank you for allowing me to join the forum.
Forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong section.
I'm new to motorhomes and never had a caravan.
I've bought a 2008 Orian Zeta on a Peugeot Boxer.
In the Peugeot manual it states that the spare wheel is dropped down by winding it down from the rear. This doesn't appear to be possible and I can't see a winding mechanism.
I've looked in the Autoseekers manual and that doesn't cover accessing the spare wheel which is underslung near the rear axle.
Is it a case of crawling underneath and loosening the nuts only for it to fall on your head??
Many thanks

Re: Access Spare Wheel
If you look by the offside rear wheel (can't remember if just in front or behind) you should see the receiving part for the cranking handle, it winds down from there but that's on van conversions, not sure if the skirt of a coachbuilt obscures it. However I wouldn't be doing it anyway, let breakdown company do it.

Re: Access Spare Wheel
Paul has a very good point in letting a breakdown service do it.
Shout if you get desperate as I’m not too far from you.

Re: Access Spare Wheel
If you google it you will find several good youtubes on it. Worth knowing how to do it just in case and also to check the condition of the wheel/tyre and the lowering mechanism. The age of the tyre is also critical.
