Sockets Empty Sockets

Post by Guest Sat Jul 13, 2024 6:39 pm

Hi all does anybody know if it’s only the two sockets above the cooker in the kitchen area as it looks difficult to use them if you needed to whilst using the gas hobs in the broadway fb many thanks

This is the spec for the current Broadway FB.

How often would you need to , say, boil a kettle at the same time as using a gas ring? It should be easy enough to let the cord run behind the raised cooker lid, or maybe have an extra socket fitted.

It’s a bit of a silly place for sockets in my opinion, but it is also difficult to see an alternative location given the position of the sink. Have AS gone off those socket towers?

I wouldn't pay any attention to what the spec says.  My Nuevo's spec says 4 sockets but, excluding the microwave socket and external socket, it has 5 sockets.  A pair by the kitchen which we never use, a pair by one of the TV points which get most use for charging and my wife's hairdryer and one on the o/s floor which gets occasional use in the winter by a fan heater and charging if sat on that side.  The only extra electrical cooking gadget we use is a George Foreman in the summer which plugs in outside.  The gas whistling kettle goes on the hot plate or gas burner if there is no mains.

We have the same as Caraman.  The floor socket is awkward, especially at night.
It would be easy to run an extension to an additional socket on the bulkhead behind the driver …… although I haven’t done so!

I really dislike the sockets above the sink.
I also dislike the fact that no sockets are switched.
