Thule single electric step.
Hi guys,
Reversed into low brick wall, completely bent the thule step.
Took it off and it got a label 309972 and the only step i can find is 309968.
I emailed thule, and auto sleeper factory spares and both have not replied.
Has anyone had to replace their step and are they the same step?
Thanks in advance.
John.

Fortunately, I haven't had to replace the step. This is partly because the step automatically stows itself when the engine is started. Doesn't yours do the same?

Perhaps a daft question and I genuinely feel your pain but if you were reversing, the engine must have been running so why hadn’t the step retracted?
Replacing the step without finding out why it hadn’t retracted in the first place might be costly.

Re: Thule single electric step.
It had properly retracted under the motorhome.
I was reversing down a lane, the body work was higher than the wall, but the retracted step was lower than the bodywork, it hit the wall, whixh was about 6inches high. The electrics are fine, the step is now bent.

You will find current models here. https://www.thule.com/en-gb/comfort-and-security/steps/thule-single-step-12v---460-_-309969
They make a 460mm and a 550mm wide step, in the Information section you will see the dimensions so you can match them up to yours. Model numbers change but I suspect that little changes and dimensions are the same.
There is also a compact model at 500mm, the compact refers to the height of the step when folded https://www.thule.com/en-gb/comfort-and-security/steps/thule-single-step-compact-12v-500-_-301888

Hi mike,
The nearest to my existing step is product number 309968, and it looks the same as my product number 309972. But before splashing out £300 i want to make sure its comparable.
Thanks john

I have found the Auto-Sleepers Parts Enquiry System to be pretty good:

I will give the spare department another email. I know they no longer have a phone line to contact.

Re: Thule single electric step.
Had confirmation that 309968 is the same step, ordered it £299 on Wednesday, fitted it on saturday, working as it should.
Thanks for everyone's input.
