Thule electric step
My Thule electric step won't work, it just seems to have stopped working & the van is only 6 months old. I've cleaned any debris away but still nothing, has anyone else had this problem?

Be nice if you said hello as requested when you joined...

As regards your step, as van is only 6 months old, don't try any repair yourself , go back to your dealer or you will jeopardise your warranty.

Apologies
Sorry Paul & everyone, must have missed the bit about saying hello. My wife Georgina & I are former caravaners from a few years ago & now, with a bit more time on our hands, want to travel a bit. Hello from us both.

These steps do need to be well lubricated, most likely it is just gummed up. Try giving it a little gentle assistance when you operate it or failing that follow Paul's advice and take it to the dealer if convenient.

Re: Thule electric step
I assume your EC700 isn't shutdown as that will stop the step from working. Have you checked the DC fuses under the flap on your EC700? If one is blown it will be red.

Thanks Caraman, funnily enough I checked them this morning & one had blown. The step is working ok now.........wonder why a a new van would blow a fuse though?
Thanks all for your thoughts.

Re: Thule electric step
Was it the No 10 10A fuse? If so, I had this problem in the early days and got through quite a few fuses. On advice from Sargent the A-S Service Centre changed the Step Run Time under advanced settings to 3000 ms which seemed to cure it. I can't remember what it was before. Advanced settings can be found by holding the settings button down on the EC700 CP for about 5 seconds.Fanny Burford wrote:Hopefully a weak fuse then?! I'll get some spares, thanks
