Sargent EC500 ticking noise

Good Afternoon. 

My sargent EC 500 intermittently has a ticking noise like an indicator noise. All work OK not sure what this is???

Is the water tank almost/full? Drove me mad trying to figure out what was happening till I realised it was the float relay for the auto fill solenoid.

Thank you yes it is 3/4 full. I will take some water out and see if if helps.

Nothing you can do about it really. It happens when moving around in the van and the water is moving in the tank operating the float.
It’s either use rear steadies or drop the water level a bit to stop it happening.

Called sargent they tried to say it could be the solar overcharging but makes no sense as when you moved around the van it would act up just as your reply advising it was the water solenoid.  I have am M&BG warranty so might try for tge ec500 change. How easy is it to change anyone done this???

I am not sure what the warranty covers but it isn’t what I would consider a fault or failure?
 I agree that the noise is quite irritating but it only happens when the level is at a certain point so nothing long standing

Thank you they will change it under the warranty as it strange I have never had this before. I am going to hold on a few weeks as using the van as on our travels.  I have dropped the water yo half full and will see what happens.

If Fixer is correct, there is no point in having it changed under warranty - the replacement will do exactly the same thing. IIRC (from a long while ago) it's a designed-in "feature". I ~think~ I can recall that it would be possible to re-design it so that the relay isn't actuating when it doesn't need to, but you almost certainly won't get that done under warranty...

Thank you for the reply. Will see what happens now. The water level is lower and keep you updated if I try the warranty  route.
