Rust behind roof mouldings

Hi, new member here. We have a 58 plate Trident and have just discovered rust behind the black plastic mouldings above the windows. Our local van man needs to remove the mouldings but is worried they may break. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know where it might be possible to get replacement mouldings? Pre 2010 but I have contacted AS parts to see if they can help. Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't think you will get these anywhere other than A/S now, and unfortunately A/S are in the process of distancing themselves from spare parts supply for older vans. I ~think~ these are like the ones on our Trooper, which are vacuum-moulded. A/S may be able to advise whether they were made by Cheltenham laminates, but I don't think they were - but if they were, you may be able to persuade them to make you some.

If it were mine, I would try my best not to the break them!
