2 C&CC sites close

Reported in latest club magazine,  the C&CC sites at Oxford and Adgestone (Isle of Wight) closed with immediate effect , both requiring more investment than the club is prepared to pay. Never been to the Oxford site but did go to Adgestone many years ago , had swimming pool and take-away back then.

Its a pity about Oxford - not a great site but a great location. I tried to find out who owned it a few years ago but with no luck. A couple of weeks ago I was looking to book a week there in February and found that it was no longer in the system so we are going to Briarfields instead.

We went to Oxford about 15 years ago, agree great location but needed investment even then. It had grass pitches when it needed hard standing- not been since so that may have changed. A shame as sites in locations like this won’t exist soon.

Oxford is a good site, especially  as the park and ride is just across the road.

Only been a couple of times it was in private ownership the first time and owned by the club the second time we visited.

We used to visit the C&CC site near Maybole (Kilkerran, the walled garden) they closed it down, and it was bought privately. Went from strength to strength.
