Heating & hot water
We have just purchased a 2014 Warwick Duo and have been trying everything out in the drive to check that everything is working.
My question is how long should it take for the water to heat up from cold?
The heater does seem to work although I don't think it will be warm enough once the outside temp drops below 5 degrees but the water seems to take an age to even get Luke warm.

You don’t say which system you have. I’d guess Truma 4E. Are you running the heating/hot water on gas or electric? If electric, which setting are you using?

Re: Heating & hot water
Our 16 WD took a while to heat up on electric Eco , selected EL1 to get hot water, gas will heat the water faster than on electric. It did in the van.
Hope you get it sorted .

Re: Heating & hot water
For the 6E
EL1 = 900 watts, EL2 = 1800 watts, mix 1 = 900 w plus gas boost. mix 2 = 1800W plus gas boost and with water set to hot is the quickest way to heat the water although using gas only is nearly as quick.
If you do have a 4E including use of gas is essential for hot water.
The electrical heater elements in the combi are only recked by Truma to have a life expectancy of 5/6 years, with a 6E the current for one element is circa 4A and for both circa 8A

Re: Heating & hot water
I have the 4e and I would suggest switching to water only , which on our van takes about 40 minutes on EL2, before switching over to heat and water. I have never used gas and electric together.

Thanks
Thank you everyone for the advice. I now have hot water. My next questions are when filling the fresh tank the water stops when the tank is only half full why? Also could someone tell me where the pressure switch is located?

Re: Heating & hot water
Someone with a Warwick will have to tell you where the Whale pressure switch and integrated non-return valve is. How sure are you that the freshwater tank is only half full? If you are relying on the level sensors they are notoriously unreliable. There is lots on the Forum about this.cibaker wrote:Thank you everyone for the advice. I now have hot water.
