Warm feet make me happy
On a long drive this evening, heading for a weekend away with temperatures approaching freezing, I was conscious that the cab heaters weren't doing much to keep my toes warm. They were pumping out plenty of heat, but it was matched by a cold low-level draught from the back: not a problem I'd suffered in my previous T5-based van. I guess the cab heater vents just aren't designed to heat a compartment this size, I thought! I did know that it was OK to run the Truma heating while driving, but that was hard to turn on from the driver's seat.
And then I remembered: I have the Truma app on my phone, and my phone is carefully mounted right by my fingertips.
Sure enough, I could turn the rear heat on, adjust the temperature and fan, with just a quick swipe away from my Google Maps. I could even have turned the hot water on in preparation for a hot shower when I arrived, if I'd wanted. And just a couple of miles further up the A1, everything was nice and cosy, and my toes were warm again!
I'm sure old hands will know this trick, but I offer it just in case any other newbies haven't realised that this was a possibility!
