Re: Cam belt
If it's Peugeot 2.2 it's a chain not belt.

Re: Cam belt
as to when it says it should be done is ok if you have had the vehicle from new and the engine has bin run regular .buying a van that the owner before may have been parked for a long time that would not help the life of the belt . so myself would say to get it changed . are you getting from a dealer or private as this needs sorting as to the price you pay
is it a kemerton xl as it should be as to the age or kemerton

Re: Cam belt
Peugeot stipulate 98000 miles or 10 years for the BlueHdi 2.0 ( I have this in writing from Peugeot main dealer ) … as Glyn states probably ok for a vehicle which is run regularly, not like most motorhomes. I had mine changed at 5yrs which is more like the industry average, maybe overkill but I’d rather that than kill the engine.

Re: Cam belt
it is 10 years for normal van use .the dealer has tried to help .but is the reason I said what I did before. a van with a item driven by the engine when stopped just an example a pump used to get the load off the vehicle or load the vehicle the engine is doing more hours work so is not 96000 as you have been told . the engine talked about here is now used by fiat. the fiat engine you had before was used in other makes and I worked a lot on that engine and would not want it in my own van
