cam belt replacement

Hi just been quoted £250 for replacing the cam-belt on my 1994 A/S Trophy (petrol) is this ok or anybody think it is a bit dear ?, any Trophy owners who have had it done?

I paid around 350 pounds to have mine replaced over 4 years ago. Mind you it's a 2.5 TDi Diesel
I don't if a petrol T4 is easier to do?

apparently a petrol version has only one belt whereas a diesel engine has two he did quote me £300+ before he realized it was a petrol engine

It sounds about right. You could try quotes from a couple of other garages to get the best price.

Full 60,000 mile service with cam-belt replacement from Arnold Clarke in Aberdeen was just over £400 (including all bits and bobs like oil etc).

Well happy with the result.

Ouch!!! You folk need to find yourself a self employed mechanic!

The chap who is doing mine (Transit 2.5TDi).....£120 including cambelt.
Oh yes and before the 'negs' begin posting he is a qualified Ford mechanic.
