1992 J Reg Autosleeper Duetto
Hello,
We have now owned our 30 year old long wheel base Autosleeper Duetto for over 16 years and it was 14 years old when we bought if from our local dealership for £10,000. We negotiated the price by agreeing we would skip the habitation check and extended warranty so we were taking a calculated risk! We have been totally happy with it and still use it regularly.
it has a Ford 2.5 diesel engine with power steering. We have always had the engine serviced each year and we have kept the underneath of the vehicle undersealed. Problems with rust have been relatively minor and it is only recently that we have had some work done to keep up its good looks!! All of the interior has remained in good working order apart from the hot water heater which we had replaced last year.
Our only headache at the moment is how we find gas bottles to fit in the gas cupboard now that Calor have ceased supplying 3.9 kg bottles!!
Anyway, if anybody is wondering if they should buy an Autosleeper Duetto we would highly recommend it!

It must be a prototype as the Duetto wasn't launched until 1994. Amazed to hear that your van doesn't suffer much from rust.
The Symphony which has same layout but on Peugeot presumably has the same gas locker as the Duetto. The Symphony can hold 1x6kg bottle plus 1x3.9kg bottle. Its tight but can fit, perhaps yours can hold the same, in which case you could just use 1 x 6kg bottle. Or you could switch to Flogas who still do a 3.9 but at the moment will not sell new ones , only exchanges due to demand caused by Calor .
