1992 Autosleeper Trident help please
Hi. After a lifetime of wanting a campervan I have an affordable one so I am currently in the process of purchasing my first Campervan. It’s a VW Auto sleeper Trident 2.4 1992
I would appreciate some help. When exploring insurance I’m asked if it’s been modified and I’m not sure if I respond by saying yes to a conversion as I presume it is classed as a van?
Also anyone any idea of TAX amount as I do not have the vehicle until end of week to get number from log book.
Are camper vans always listed as ‘vans’ or can they be registered as campervan.
Many thanks.
Debz

Hi Debz.
For insurance purposes the answer to the modification question should be 'no' unless it had been modified in some way since leaving the factory. Perhaps a bigger or chipped engine, the fitting of a towbar or something similar. As it will be insured as a motor caravan, the insurance company will expect it to be exactly that.
The V5 should show it as a motor caravan. Sorry, I can’t help with the tax question .

The tax for a 1996 Talent with the 2.4 engine is Ā£270 pa so I expect it is the same amount for a Trident
