Window leaks
Does anyone have any experiences relating to the bonded in side windows leaking, it’s become evident that water is entering the body of our 2016 van as I have a drip from the o/s sill drain after it has rained. I’m going through the easy to check sources of potential leaks first (mains in socket and other fixings in the side of the van) but wondered if this could be the window bonding?
I would have thought I would have evidence on the interior trims if any were leaking, although without knowing what the area looks like around the windows I’m guessing really.
Has any one experienced a leak on the windows? Was it evident inside the van?
I’ve checked sliding window drains and they are all clear and running.
A bit of a concern that water is entering the sills as this won’t help prolong the vehicles life span.

Re: Window leaks
the first thing for you to do is tape the window on the joint outside to see if that stops the leak .
then remove the tape on each window and test each time if you then get a leak

Re: Window leaks
Today after getting back from our trip it’s been 4 days since it rained and water is still dripping from the sill, although in reduced quantities.
I removed the mains-in socket, this has definitely been letting water in as it was fixed with sikaflex which was still adhered to the body panel but not to the plastic socket. There was evidence of leaks and dirt into the areas it shouldn’t reach.
Will reseal a new one in place tomorrow and see what happens.

Re: Window leaks
i have a query along the same lines. I have a leak in sliding window and the drain hole is not draining. I have read through the posts on fixing the drainage issue and I'm attempting to fix this issue. However, I also want to stop the window leaking in the first place so I'm thinking that the rubber seal around the sliding window may need replacing. However, I can't find anywhere to source this from. I tried contacting Auto-sleeper but they said I'd have to get it from Peugeot dealer but can't find a dealer that knows anything about it. Just wondering if anyone has tried this? Thanks.

Re: Window leaks
Re sliding windows, I found that when looking at the sliding window seal from the outside it had collected dirt and was going green in the seal recess. So using brushes and cotton buds I removed this material. This allowed the seal to become flexible again as the dirt had made stay moulded into a hard shape that wasn’t the best at sealing.
I then rubbed silicone grease into the seal and rubbed some onto the edge of the glass where the seal sits. The seal no longer allows water into the area of the drain.
I have unblocked the drain, I resorted to taking a hacksaw blade to the grinder taking off all of its teeth and making a dagger. I then heated this up to cherry red with the gas hob and put shed this into the area of the blocked drain, burning a path through the window sealer. I tried the other methods but found that all I was doing was pushing past the flexible adhesive which then resealed again when removed the implement.
Mask up the area of paintwork under the drain to prevent damage to the paint.

Re: Window leaks
Thanks for the response. I will look into the silicone grease solution. I've spent hours trying to unblock the drain using hacksaw blade and various implements (e.g. wire coat hanger sharpened to a point) but like you said, it really doesn't seem to do much and I'm not sure I've made any progress. I might try the heated hacksaw blade just a bit worried about it shattering the glass. I presume you cut off the plastic drain cover first to be able to get at the window sealant?

Re: Window leaks
Like a few others I have water leaking out of the panel on the sliding door of my Fairford. I have looked for the drain hole in the sliding window channel but can’t locate it! Help please.

Re: Window leaks
I sealed mine up with Halfords black window seal. No more leaks and you have too look very closely to see it. I have not used the sliding windows since buying the van in 2015, so they will not be missed.

Re: Window leaks
Does anyone know how to remove these sliding windows from inside, too give the seals a good clean all the way round?
Hidden clip somewhere, lift slide etc?
Would be good to know for a top too tail seal clean or new seal fitting etc.
Had a quick look on Google this morning but found nothing.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Window leaks
Just a quick nudge of this topic to the top.
Anyone know how to remove the side sliding windows, peugeot, to clean seals all the way around and then to replace again from inside ?
Still can't find any clues on the net to how to do it.

Re: Window leaks
I unblocked the drainage channel under the sliding window, then cleaned and lubricated the seal with silicone grease. I think that moss grows in the seal and hardens, this then deforms or sets the seal into a profile that prevents it from working.
