LPG tank size in 2017 Kingham Empty LPG tank size in 2017 Kingham

Are there any other owners of the 2017 Kingham that could clarify the capacity of the under slung LPG tank?
We were led to believe it was 25 litres but can’t get more than 12l in it.

Most are 25l but only fill to 20l max (80% capacity). Are you only getting 12l in after the red light comes on? Most of us find there is plenty of gas remaining in the tank when the gauge shows red/empty.

If you got 12 ltrs in it that's when the 80% capacity float valve shut it off. In other words when your tank was 80% full

The average qty gauge on these things have all the practical uses of an ash tray on a motorbike!

We can survive well all off grid, on circa 6  ltrs per 2 to 3 weeks work on that and fill the thing whenever and wherever you can up!

Once that safety valve shuts the gas fill off, don’t attempt to force more in no matter how tempting it may be.

Knowing you can have 20ltrs in tank when full. Keep a record of what lights are showing and how much went in at each filling. The gauges are notoriously inaccurate but you will eventually detect a trend of how much is in tank from indication given.
As an example, when my red light shows I expect to get 9/10 ltrs in to refil showing me my red light is half full.

I have the early gauge with only 4 green lights. Filled up with only 1 light showing and got 11 litres in. Filled up again with 2 lights on and put in 9 litres which seems more accurate but at least I should never run out if I go by the gauge.

Hi all, just filled up today for the first time since getting the van, I had 4 lights on the Gasit gauge which is just under half and got in 7.5 ltrs and i believe mine is 25 ltr tank. From the gauge reading i was expecting to pit in around 12 to 14 ltrs but as said gauge is apparently not very accurate. Kevin

I believe the tank is 25l, but a shut off valve limits capacity to 20l to allow for heated expansion.

For info on our '17 Kingham, using the van all year around, on and off EHU, we average around 1 litre of gas per night, so, we fill up based on that, rather than the lights.

Thanks all, We’re currently down in Cornwall so may call in at Autosleepers HQ on the way back home just to check.
The tank was completely empty when we did the first 12 liter fill so it looks like we maybe only have a 15 liter tank which is disappointing as we’re used to double that and are off grid quite a lot.

I've never known AS to fit any other size but 25 litre tank.
Why don't you check Gasit website where you'll find dimensions of their tanks and then compare size of what you've got.

Hi all, just looking through the AS handbook for my 2015 Warwick XL and in there it says 20ltr LPG tank fitted. It also says it has a Dometic toilet but it has a Thetford. So not sure will follow Pauls advice and measure the tank. Kevin

It’s 20 usable litres of gas being 80% of a 25 litre sized tank. allthumbz

Since changing tank due to leaking weld, I now have a "gas store" system and must say I now find the led gauge gives a very true reading, so no more having the odd 8-10 ltrs left when on red, so I might run out. Was some good with the old "gasit" gauge!
