Warwick microwave
Hello everyone,
The Daewoo microwave oven fitted to our 2015 Warwick XL has been stopping halfway through it's
programme due, I think, to overheating. After allowing it to cool down it will start again only to
repeat the process. It's rated at 800W energy output, 1200W input power.
The manual advises clearance of 75mm to sides and rear, 100mm to top.
The clearance on ours when installed is around 25mm all round.
We're going to replace it, my question is would one intended for domestic use, with an output
of perhaps 700W, be OK. I thought I may also fit a few circular vents to the sides of the cabinet that it sits in.
Any views on this please ? All advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in anticipation,
Michael

Re: Warwick microwave
I had exactly same problem with my Daewoo. My first thought was to put a couple of circular vents to help expel heat but made no difference. After reading same problems with Daewoo microwaves I think they are all the same. Anyway I replaced it with a manual one from Asda, cheapest George one they did. It's not as high and gives a good 1" gap at the top between the microwave and the frame. It's been excellent so far , we've now had it about 9 months. It's 700w and cost about £45 if I remember correctly, probably more now.

Re: Warwick microwave
The Daewoo was ok in our WXL but the previous owner had cut to large vent holes at the back of the supporting shelf and used brown rectangular air vents to hide the holes, we never had a problem with it overheating at all, the only reason I removed it this years was to install a 600w one that I can use with my inverter , the Daewoo now lives in our kitchen

Re: Warwick microwave
We had the same trouble with the Daewoo in out 2017 Warwick and have experienced the same issue in a caravan. It seems to be all due to fitting with insufficient space around the M/wave. We learned never to use it for more than about 8 minutes at a time.

Re: Warwick microwave
We used ours in the Warwick to store bread.
Had we kept the van longer term it'd have been removed and the , considerable, space made into a cupboard.
Didn't work offgrid either...

Re: Warwick microwave
Hello everyone,
Thanks for the advice and comments re. my microwave problem.
I have fitted a new 700W microwave, also some 60mm circular vents,
hopefully this should do the trick.
Best regards
Michael
