Has any body found a better way of fixing, auto sleepers use 4 self tapping screws which are forever pulling out.have replaced several times and can't use any larger screws, have fitted additional screws to no avail it's on a 2012 symbol

From ebay
RIVNUTS BLIND THREADED NUTSERTS RIVET NUTS STAINLESS STEEL M3 M4 M5 M6 M8 M10
Bit of a faff, but you'd remove the microwave, enlarge the existing self tapper holes, to suit, prob M4 or M5 rivnut.
Install same then use appropriate bolt/screw (either M4 or M5) to fix it in place

I used rubber bobbins to replace the screws, I personally think screws are a b awful way of doing it, mine was only a year old and already been refitted twice before. Now perfect.

Re: Microwave fixings
Does having a microwave with 4 self tappers to hold it, at head height, make anyone else nervous about what would happen in a collision?

Bobbins for Microwave
Yes, top off, disconnect transformer, remove bottom chassis, remove transformer from bottom chassis for access. Due to where the screws had been fitted they had pulled and cracked the rear holes on the bottom chassis I had to move my rear feet to a new position so had to drill the shelf in new positions for the rear, front ok. Bobbins fitted to the bottom chassis with nuts and lock washers and fitted back on to shelf with large washers and Allen screws. The bobbins were male and female, so nut one side for the chassis and screw the other for holding to the shelf.
Easy stuff (to me anyway), just remember to disconnect the three pin molex type plug before completely removing the microwave.
I have more pictures and information if wanted.
Edit: the bobbins are actually vibration mounts, but called bobbins.

Re: Microwave fixings
I put a bit of glue on each screw. Not a problem since. Screws being so small they come out with a screw driver

Would be very grateful if you could post or pm further details especially a view of the underside of the shelf. Looks to be an excellent solution .

Yes as explained below. This is why I suggested the Rivnuts which are installed externally, needing no dismantling of the oven.
And yes, I think 4 self tappers would be less than adequate in a crash!

Re: Microwave fixings
Many thanks all for the help, decided on rivnuts.found the bottom plate of the microwave was in a bit of a state, fixings enlarged more like slots, but managed to get them to hold without drilling extra holes in the support shelf.just incase it breaks again and I've got a second chance to fix
