T5 Trident black trim Empty T5 Trident black trim

Post by mutleychops Tue Apr 18, 2023 8:40 pm

Hi - the black trim around the top of my T5 Trident Autosleeper 2006 is looking scruffy and starting to peel away - this is the 3" trim at the base of the high top, which runs up each side and over the top of the front windscreen.  The door handles are also peeling.  Hence all of it doesn't look so black any more.  Worse on the nearside so think it is probably related to particular weather exposure.
Due to the peeling I'm not quite sure how if I can rectify this at home & if there is anything I can use to 're-black' the trim.  Does anyone have any suggestions please?

To re-black use liquid shoe polish, I've had great results on other black trim on my Boxer.

Are you using a specific brand Paul as I bought some and it was terribly thin and added no colour at all, thanks

Can't recall brand and its at home but its just the one Home Bargains sell , it was £1 a bottle when I bought it. It does need a couple of coats, maybe more if badly faded.
