Symbol 2.0 petrol engine info
Hi folks
I have been trying to find a manual or engine diagram for my 2000 Peugeot Boxer Symbol petrol engine. Seems to not exist so I thought someone here might know what might be available.
Cheers

oh on my "Major Fresh water leak" I'm waiting for my Water heater arriving after getting it refurbished. Fingers crossed.

Symbol 2.0 petrol engine info
I have an issue with engine surging when pulling up to junctions/traffic lights. Doesnt happen every time. I have tried replacing the idle control valve but that made the revs shoot up to 3k and sit there. Assumed i got the wrong part and tried a second with same result. Cleaned old valve and have it back on. Still surging occasionally. Had to replace my starting motor and when back up and running no surging for about a month now started again. Have checked vacuum hoses for any leaks.
Any thoughts folks?

Hi Folks
Thanks again for the help. After cleaning the idle control valve weve had no surging so far.
Its typical that you get one bit resolved and another pokes its head up :-)
I thought i had a blown exhaust and had it checked but no holes or leaks from anywhere.
The throaty sound is when taking foot off the gas or accelerating. Sounds like exhaust blowing to me.
The only other thought i had was the Catalytic converter or silencer box issue inside, but i would have expected the exhaust check to spot that.
Same with the manifold?? or am i expecting too much from them.
Can you think of anything else that would give that throaty boy racer sound.
Cheers

Check the manifold for cracks, it’s not unusual for manifolds if cast iron to sometimes suffer from cracking

My Peugeot 2.0L petrol year 2000 Symbol does this. Had it checked at MOT time where a slight leak was found although they didn't say from where and not enough of a problem for it fail MOT.DannyC wrote:
