For the Trident and I'm assuming its age is between 2003 and 2010, it appears you were sold the correct oil but check here ...

to help you with your car you need to give more info. The same Comma chart will help but will give their recommended oil, so you can check your car on this Shell (Helix is Shell's oil) website..

I should have read your heading first. As you said it was 2.0 litre I assumed it was petrol because I can't find any reference to a 2.0 litre diesel of the age of yours. 1.9 yes, but not 2 litre. If if is 1.9 then according to the Comma website you need Syner D 5/40 not Syner g as you have been sold. Can you not return it (assuming it is unopened) ?

hi,
thanks for responding, actually, female that i am, i thought 2lt was 1.9 lol. its a 1.9. i phoned kevin coopers and they said the syner g is alright to use in diesel engine, it just doesn't say diesel. however, apparently it conforms to what the engine uses. so i will use it and hope for the best.
many thanks. i just didn't want to ruine the engine! you know, as ladies might!
