Bourton
Hi All. I’m the owner of a 18 month old Bourton that has just developed the now very common “stress fracture “ from the front n/s side window. To say I’m disappointed is a understatement I’m gutted! I thought I was buying a quality motorhome (£80000) My question is has anyone had a successful repair done? My van is waiting to go back to the factory for repair, I’m not to optimistic at the moment because I’ve read that many vans have had two or three attempts! Thanks for any replies. Chris.

Re: Bourton
They altered the way the window aperture was cut thus causing the stress fractures, AS have issued a technical bulletin about how it is to be repaired now, apparently the window is taken out ,the interior wall boards are removed the crack is fibreglassed from the inside and stronger wooden wall supports are fitted around the window opening to stop the flexing and new wall boards and and interior trim fitted. Talk on the Autosleeper farce book page indicates that this is supposed to have rectified the problem but only time will tell, the other thing to note is that the outside will be filled and repainted to match, this will over the years discolour at a different rate than the Gel coat finish

No picture as deleted. The crack started from the bottom corner of the front window,at one m.m. Wide going diaginal towards cab for ten c.m.
The crack breaks the top gel coat. Believe me if you get one you will know about it.

Re: Bourton
Hi Davo once the dealership contacted Autosleeper about your stress fracture, how long was it before Autosleeper took your vehicle in for repair? How long did Autosleeper keep your vehicle for please? We have just got a stress fracture in our Broadway EB from the bathroom window to the top of the first fridge vent. Nightmare!

Re: Bourton
Hi Mids. I contacted AS direct, at first they said I would have to go through the dealer, I said I wasn’t happy with that because ultimately the van had to come back to them for repair. The van is going in for repair the end of May and they will have it for two weeks! I’m not too confident the repair will be successful as I have read of people having two and three attempts! Unless someone can tell me different, good luck with your van, AS have got themselves in a right mess with this problem.

Hi davo
I know what you mean .but as AS have accepted there is a build problem surly they should offer a life time warranty on the repair and any stress fractures that appear in the future. (Hopefully not) .thanks for the info

Re: Bourton
I've extracted this from another thread on this subject.....
Autosleeper have now commissioned a correct repair procedure and are replacing the wooden supports around the frame with a timber that doesn’t flex as much but there is a back log of vans waiting for this to be done
