Kemerton 2011 Microwave removal? Empty Kemerton 2011 Microwave removal?

Post by westjj42 Sat Feb 25, 2023 8:54 am

Morning All
Looking to gain access to the electrical connections that feed the Daewoo Microwarvay (Nigellas description) but without dismantling all of the surrounding cabinet. Is there a retaining screw easily accessible similar to the fridge. I want to connect it up to my Inverter and need to run a second feed via a switch up to it but not sure how to get the thing out?? Thanks in advance for your wisdom.

Is the screws under the shelf  fastening it same as the WXL, may have the little round paper wood colour stickers over the screw heads

You may be horrified to find out how it is held down, just 3 or 4 self tapping crews into the bottom of it. Should you wish to replace it that way, get some masking tape and put it on both the oven and the surround and mark it so you can get the thing back to the exact position.

The self tappers are indeed under the extractor fan.

You have to remove the extractor then the four self tapping screws which hold the microwave in place. The  microwave is just a normal plug in a socket within the cabinet.

4 screws holding the microwave in place if you are lucky! I think there were just 2 and a short one on mine (why a short one I’ve no idea as it didn’t reach the microwave) before I removed it like Richard did.
What you will probably find in plentiful supply are holes in the woodwork where the bodgers - sorry craftsmen- at A/S attempted to find the bottom of the microwave smile!
