How to remove panel below headlights?
does anyone know how to remove the panel immediately below the headlights on the X250? I have removed the two screw bolts from inside the engine bay but it seems to be also attached underneath towards the centre with some kind of clip and not sure which way to pull as I do not want to damage the clip. Has anyone ever removed this. It is the offside one I am wanting to remove to gain access to under the scuttle below the wiper arm to sort out the water which lays in the scuttle at that side where there is no drain only a plastic plug.

Below the headlights?
I am a bit confused by your post - do you mean the panel above the headlamps? If so, see my video ...

Hope this helps.

hello moggyminor1966 can you tell me if the holes approximately 1 inch diameter on your scuttle have bungs in them please?
i know the smal holes at each end are there for to let the rain water out but i have two larger holes which lay just beneath the plastic panels above easch light.
its just buying our nuevo used im not sure if somethings missing or if they are all this way? cheers Dave

Hi Nuevo I have only just found the small drain hole on the offside of the scuttle as it is hidden by the wiper arm. By switching off the ignition when the wipers are upright you can see the hole which in my case was completely bunged up with dirt so water was permanently laying in that part of the scuttle. there is a plastic push out bung on that side. there does not appear to be a push out bung on the near side. If yours does not have any then I would have thought Peugeot parts will stock them.

Moggy (as you prob know after watching the vid) the panels just lift and pull towards you gently....
Nuevo as for the holes I had the same and have since filled them with rubber blanking grommets, will try to get a pic and upload in a short while... with these filled in there is less water that goes through onto the engine, but the main culprit seems to be the scuttle where it meets the windscreen... I'm going to ease mine back and pump some black sealant along it before running a neat bead along the edge once it's more secured to the screen.

Re: How to remove panel below headlights?
Here's a couple of pics showing the hole filled with the blanking grommets....
I used 25mm but these were too big and either 23 or 24mm would be a better size as I had to warm mine up in hot water to soften them and then use a small screwdriver to ease them in as they were so tight.
This pic shows the grommet clearer and the small drain hole indicated by the red arrow

Re: How to remove panel below headlights?
I have checked the near side scuttle again and confirm there is also a push out flat plastic bung for the larger hole.
In CC's photo the smaller hole on mine has a rubber insert connected to a rubber tube which goes down inside the engine bay. The trouble is the diameter is so small it quite often gets bunged up with muck causing water to lay in this part of the scuttle.
Now that I have already sealed the scuttle to the windscreen and fitted rubber seal on both sides of the bonnet I have eliminated 95% of the water ingress to the engine bay.

Re: How to remove panel below headlights?
Hi Moggy... strange that our larger holes were open, wondering if this is yet again "another example of incompetency" as the scuttle has been sealed in the center join and a water collection tray positioned in the centre with a drain pipe, so it's had some remedial work and I'm suspecting the inserts were not put back in maybe
Might try to get the correct plastic bung that you refer to next time I'm passing a Peugeot dealership. This evening I have eased back the scuttle where it meets the screen and put a good bead of silicone behind it before pushing it back and holding it overnight with gaffer tape until it cures, will run a neat bead along the edge where it meets the windscreen tomorrow evening to finish it off... Decided to remove the sealant previously used to seal the centre join as it was badly done, and was shocked to see the two panels barely meet! Who ever designed the scuttle needs their kicked.
May I ask which seals you used around the outside edge of the bonnet? (think you said you obtained these via sealsdirect?) Is it down both sides and the back edges & is it self adhesive?

Hi CC the seal is P42
http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/shopping.asp?intDepartmentId=3
I think I just got 1 mtr which was just enough for both sides. I used Evostick contact adhesive which is a bit messy to use but sticks well. My neighbour gave me a hand and ended up putting the adhesive on the bonnet sides using his finger which was easier whilst I put the adhesive on the flat part of the seal. If you apply the rubber lightly then just gently close the bonnet you can adjust it so it is a tight fit. I did end up with some excess glue but is under the bonnet anyway.
I had previously sealed the centre join in the scuttle as water used to drip through into the engine bay and before I sealed the windscreen it used to just pour down into the engine bay. I used some black sealant adhesive I bought off eBay which seems to have worked well.
I am presently away in our Nuevo for a couple of days but will post a photo of the rubber seals fitted when we get home.
