2002 Auto Sleeper Pollensa needs a polish.
I would like to smarten up my camper and wonder if there is a water based cleaner that will smarten it up or should I use a polish. I would welcome any sugestions to get a good shine.

Auto Glymm super resin polish has a slight cutting action to it which will remove surface oxidation and leave a nice shine , this is then protected with a wax of your choice

Many thanks for your information. I'll use it to buy the wife a Suprise Christmas present.

I posted this in May, which may help. I still rate Farecla as the best for the van (with Collinite best for the car).frederic wrote:Farecla restorer & Wax has been superseded

Farecla restorer & Wax has been superseded
by Cymro Tue May 10, 2022 5:59 pmI have used Farecla Gelcoat Restorer and Wax (500ml) for several years on the GRP of my AutoSleeoers. It's been recommended by others on the Forum. It does a very good job, without too much elbow grease, restoring hazy GRP. I tend to use it annually.
Looking for it on the web recently, I couldn't find it. So I contacted Farecla to ask if it has been superseded. It has. Here's the reply:
"These products have been discontinued and updated into our new profile brand
You now will need to use Profile 350 Premium Liquid compound for restoring gelcoats and profile UV Wax which have both been updated to new formulations
For improved application and performance"
So whereas there was formerly one product, now you have to get the two. Which means twice the work. On the otherhand, you can now use a wax of your choice (mine being Collinite).
Thought this information might be useful.

The above is a Halfords link, I got mine from our excellent motor factors in Sheringham, guy there has 20 yrs+ in the car polish business, he put me onto this.
It is truly excellent on the monocoque grp and equally good on the painted cab area.
It's Farecla G3 Pro.
I apply by hand onto a clean surface, and use a rotary buffing tool to polish it off, in the tool I use 4"lambswool bonnets.

BMLs Pollensa is not a monocoque so doesn't have a gel coat although his overcab and rear panel may well have, so does that mean two different products for the bodywork? Id stick to Autoglym which will do his cab, body and the overcab/rear panel. It will give a decent shine but he can apply wax as well if he's so inclined.

If a 2002 Pollensa isn't a monocoque, then what is it?Paulmold wrote:BMLs Pollensa is not a monocoque so doesn't have a gel coat although his overcab and rear panel may well have, so does that mean two different products for the bodywork? It's a coachbuilt. The body is not all one piece, it has sides, roof and rear panel all separate with joints .rogerblack wrote:If a 2002 Pollensa isn't a monocoque, then what is it?Paulmold wrote:BMLs Pollensa is not a monocoque so doesn't have a gel coat although his overcab and rear panel may well have, so does that mean two different products for the bodywork? I'm guessing that the one piece roof is a GRP moulding, same as the back, with the sides below the joins being styrofoam lined polycarbonate (?) panels. The cab sides, doors and bonnet of course being original Peugeot metal.Paulmold wrote:It's a coachbuilt. Re: 2002 Auto Sleeper Pollensa needs a polish.
I purchased a couple of tubs of Farecia paste from Mark at Willersey some years ago ( carn't remember the blend of paste) however. Used it on our Sigma at the time and it brought the body work up a treat, especially on the Luton over cab area and roof which was thick with years of grime .
Not the weather for cleaning the roof though.
