Tv outlet for inverter
Please excuse my ignorance but would it be possible to connect an inverter into the tv outlet in my 2014 Warwick xl to charge a laptop?

Yes but that socket is on a 10A fuse which may be too low and blow. Look to see if the laptop charger has a wattage marked on it. If that is more than say 80W the fuse blowing is likely, particularly if anything else is being powered from the same fuse at the same time.

A more efficient use of energy will be achieved by using a dc-dc converter to charge the laptop but in either case you will be eating heavily into energy you want to power the habitation circuits in the van.

Why not charge it from a 12v charger plugged into the vehicle cigarette lighter but only when you're driving?

But still don’t exceed 10A, because the vehicle outlets(s) are also fused.IanH wrote:Why not charge it from a 12v charger plugged into the vehicle cigarette lighter but only when you're driving?
My laptop uses USBC, which makes life easier. I have a cigarette lighter adaptor for that which can produce 80W via USBC, to charge the laptop. I only use it while driving though. Normally I use site EHU so can just plug the charger into the mains.
