Seitz Blind Repair
The small blind above the cooker in the Topaz had lost its tension and as a result had become pretty ragged as it wasn’t retracting properly.
I’d intended to remove it and use a combination of white gaffer tape on the inside face and silver vent tape on the outer to try to repair it, but Helen came up with a better suggestion.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
As there was way more material on the roll than was necessary to cover the window, we cut off the scrappy part, removed the plastic rod from the hemmed section (which retains the fabric in the metal extrusion) and then press ganged my old Mom to create a new hem with her even-older sewing machine.
We now have a fully working blind which looks as good as new!
Thought this may be worth sharing in case other people have a similar issue.

Very useful, thanks for sharing. Have a similar issue with one of the blinds in our Topaz which I intend to take a look at.
