Level Symbol ride height measurements
Someone asked for some measurements, apologies but I can’t remember who it was. Also, people claimed that all these vans sit nose down, which is simply not true of the Peugeot badged manual Symbol. It may look like it, but if it does, it’s an optical illusion due to the differing wheel arch heights. However it might be true of the versions which have the bigger wheels, I don’t know.
The measurements, as best I can manage on a campsite in Austria with nothing but an iPad Pro to measure with, are:
Front left 47 cm
Front right 47 cm
Rear left 52 cm
Rear right 52 cm
Those are from the wheel centre to the wheel arch. The Top Drive suspension is at 4 bar.
Pictures showing area above fridge and cooker are both perfectly level, with no blocks (I don’t own any). The tarmac is also level but I forgot to take a picture and I’m now in the restaurant.
Apologies for the dust, who knows where it always comes from! It was spotless when I set off a week ago

I suspect (and it would be interesting to confirm it with some measurements) that the longer heavier vans may have different rear suspension geometry to accommodate an increased payload. With Peugeots, those vans may have 16” wheels instead of the 15” fitted to mine and some 6 metre vans too. But, with Fiat based vans, they might put 16” wheels on all the vans. Certainly the automatic Fiat Symbol has 16” wheels.

Why 4 bar for the air suspension? I keep mine at 2, don’t have any reason for it just that it’s in the green. Have you tried different settings and does it affect the handling? I’m just too lazy to do any testing, as long as it stays on the road I’m happy.

I tried 3 for a while, but 4 gives a more controlled ride. I found 3 was too bouncy for my liking. At the end of the day it’s adjustable for a reason, so you can find what suits you best.
