WiFi Boosters Empty WiFi Boosters

Post by Ailsaj Thu Aug 11, 2022 1:13 am

Hi wave - There seem to be a few WiFi booster gizmos around - has anyone used one on a campsite and if so do they work? Thanks.

WiFi Boosters Empty Re: WiFi Boosters

I can’t help really with wifi boosters although I did once seriously consider getting one until I realised that not many sites have decent wifi - even club sites often only have a pathetic resemblance of it.

Instead, I use the mobile network which tends to perform well in most places. Your home area might be one of the exceptions. I choose to tether directly to my phone but several folk here use Mifi routers which they say are better at picking up phone signals.

Sorry that’s not what you asked but it might provide food for thought.

I only ever used our Hwaei MIFI.  Very rarely not got good signal. In fact only once, in Suffolk!! (I don't like Suffolk either!!!)
Never found any "free" WiFi worth bothering with.

4g is virtually everywhere on O2 so that does for us just using our phones with tablets tethered to them.

Thanks Paul - I've just got a new phone (Google Pixel 6) - impressive learning curve for me! I admit to being a bit of a Luddite lol4 Amazing what you can do with a phone these days, eh up! Looks like my next trick will be 'tethering' when we are on a French campsite.  Thanks everso
