Re: Lithium battery going f
Pete - understood but my read of lithium batteries suggests that 11.6v is unhealthily low. It certainly is for a lead acid battery. We keep a plastic collapsible/folding step just inside the habitation door so my wife can access all the upper lockers. It takes up little space and is something like this:breakaleg wrote:Hi Caraman,
We park on the road and I feel every kid and drunk would possibly jump on the step or sit on it to eat their chips. .lol
Yes the lithium has held it's charge pretty well all through the winter so far, 11.6 v being the lowest so far and with a bit of sunshine it has soon recovered.

I wonder if this could be used when the EC700 is off with the step in.

Re: Lithium battery going f
Hi Caraman,
good thinking, we already have a small step in the cupboard just inside the door, so far this winter apart from a couple of runs to top up the batteries they have held quite well but I may try that next winter, my understanding of the Lithium is that you can discharge to around 20% and it recovers, never been that low and hope that I don't but it has been down as low as 11.5 volts and recovered quickly and maintained its charge.
Not started the van for almost three weeks and the batteries are showing 13.3 habitation and 12.7 Vehicle.

Re: Lithium battery going f
when you go down to 20 % and then find the battery cuts out the power and they are now saying to only go down to 50 % or the life will be much shorter for the battery
what size is your battery breakaleg the standard fit or an up grade

Hi Glynis.
It's a standard fit battery.
As I said it hasn't dropped below 11.6 v since we have had the van.

Re: Lithium battery going f
We have the same Nuevo as Bluebird ( August 21 ) and have been having the same issues, no solar panel fitted, i think the all dealers should have advised us and probably every other owner with Lithium as well of possible problems but ive heard AS didnt tell Sargent they were fitting these batteries, and maybe the dealers didnt know what problems were about to occur. Ours is on the drive so i keep it on EHU after the phone calls from the tracker company.

An easy option would be portable folding solar panel

Have you measured the real voltage with a multimeter?
