Should there be a cover over this.

When i bought our van a Warwick XL 2020 it had a Thule electric slide out step on the passenger side door, I am guessing the previous owner was disabled and needed it to get into the cab. I took it off today its not something we would use or need both being able bodied and didn't want the weight. On removing I noticed what looks like part of the air suspension gubbins, I have taken a picture not very good i know it looks like it should have a cover can someone check under their van where the air gauges are and see if its covered. If so anyone got an idea where I might get a cover.
