Gas water heater
Evening all
The gas water heater on my Duetto works fine most of the time. If it is wet and windy it tries to fire up but won't stay lit.
I've had a quick look but can't see anything obvious. Where do I start?
Cheers
Rob

Re: Gas water heater
That's odd, mine is in a 99 Duetto, took it all out last year to fix a leak and general clean up - the external baffle plate over the burner is very good and should protect the flame. Any issue with the baffle/external cover??

Re: Gas water heater
Albeit a different van and probably a different water heater but this evening in Pembrokeshire our Whale water heater failed to stay lit on gas. An hour later the wind changed direction, and with the flue outlet in the lee of the van the heater fired up and stayed lit.
Have another try with no wind or with it blowing in a different direction and you may find it stays lit.

Re: Gas water heater
Thanks both. The baffle plate is present. Most of the time it fires up first time if the weather is reasonably calm. Any sort of blustery conditions causes problems. I'll find the time to give a good clean up and a service... see if that helps.
