Which club are you a member of
Re: What club have you joined
I did wonder if the adder sign was simply to stop kids playing in the hay barn but it kept me away even though I didn't want to romp in the hay.

Re: What club have you joined
With over a half of voters being a member of both clubs, I would be interested to know from them what if any differences there are between CAMC CLs & sites and CACC CSs & sites, other than the latter has campers but the former doesn't. My perception is that CAMC sites have more rules and are more orderly but I don't know if this is really true. Similarly, there is a common perception that the CAMC is a bit snobby which the CACC play on by describing themselves as the friendly club. But again is this really true? I don't rate the CACC magazine but wonder if the CACC magazine is any better given that it must devote some of its space to camping.

Just my opinion - CAMC club sites appear tidier and better laid out than C&CC sites. Differences between CL and CS, CL tend to always have electric whereas CS don't always. More CL's then CS's have toilet/showers. CS can have up to 10 tents as well as the 5 caravan/motorhome pitches so there is more chance of children on site if you're looking for peace and quiet.
Magazines, both pretty rubbish and full of adverts.

It wasn't just that an "L" had fallen off the sign, was it

We're in both and I can't tell the difference between them. We've kept our memberships going because each has different site locations and we use them. There has been much said about site costs elsewhere, I still think the club sites are "competitively" priced compared with similarly located commercial sites.

I hadn't realised that CSs can have up to 10 tents including trailer tents on them, in addition to 5 caravans/motorhomes. I had always assumed they are limited to 5 units of any type just like CLs. For us that makes CSs far less appealing than CLs.Paulmold wrote:....
