I joined way back in 2011 within the first few weeks. My posts number is inflated by the fact that I used to welcome every single new member which probably accounts for over 7000 of those posts which still leaves a lot but that's over almost 11 years. I no longer welcome people, there's plenty of others to do that . I like to think that I have helped many members and will continue to do so.

Bigplumbs will you refrain from using your critical tone, sorry but we cant support this backbiting
We have a number of long term members on here, who in the early days for the forum were instrumental in recruiting and since then have assisted many posters

If you feel I am being Critical I apologise. But if you look back at some of the threads I have started you will see that many of your long term members quickly jumped upon me and were quite rude and insulting one of them accusing me of being non law abiding and irresponsible. Perhaps you would like to take a look at some of those posts.

I actually got on well with BB although he did have a certain way of putting things which I completely understand got peoples backs up!
I don’t quite understand the motives of the new member though who seems to enjoy causing friction on here?

Re: Charging of batteries
Am I missing something here, I thought it was Loui1121 that started the thread?
Anyway my Nuevo (09 plate but built in2007) had the same panel as L's and would only charge the battery it was linked to.
This forum has shown me that the Nuevo models varied a lot from year to year and even within a year so I agree you need to check for yourself.
Smug smile now my new PVC charges leisure batteries (x2) and vehicle batt when on mains and solar,

Re: Charging of batteries
Loui did start it but we tried to establish his control panel, Bigplumbs identified his panel and took over with his 'discussions '.

He's still on FB AS groups occasionally using both Sam Wilson and Wilson Sam. Apparently he made a full recovery.bikeralw wrote:Don't mention Samleeds...

Re: Charging of batteries
Hi
I had a solar panel and split charger put in my Gatcombe, as it was in storage. When I put it on EHU only charged the leisure battery.
Not an expert, I just tell my caravan man and he solves it.
Good man ha ha

Re: Charging of batteries
I owned an 05 Nuevo for 11 years and confirm you need to manually control which battery is charging from EHU.
In a slight aside, I now own a 21 Nuevo with the Sargent EC700 controller, which automatically switches the charging to the most appropriate battery - I believe!
My question is when the van is winterised should I keep the EHU power on, or just apply it every now and again. I.e. is there a downside to continuous charging. Oh, and My leisure battery is Lithium.

Re: Charging of batteries
I personally, just leave mine at storage, the only thing I do is move my tyres, I take it for a ride round the storage.
I have had my Gatcombe 4 years now, and when I had my solar panel installed had new batteries.
There was no manual.switch on mine,
The first year I had flat batteries, so decide to have a split charger put in.
