One night stopovers.
I'm in my middle 80s and don't want to experience any more journeys such as the one last week from Abingdon to Minehead with solid traffic all over the place which left me exhausted. In future I intend to split such journeys and the following information would be of great value to me.
Over the past few weeks I've heard about a computer application or possibly even a book which carries a list of one night stop overs such as pubs but have no actual information of such useful info. If anyone knows of these sites, apps or books I would very much like to know about them.

We use Search4Sites and have found some lovely stopovers, some of which are Britstops, which I think is the book you refer to.

There are a few competing mobile apps and they all have their pros and cons. Park4night is another one that has a website as well:

Travel at night, not joking, we did in our last two forays south and going south all was fine with little traffic and they were well spread apart. Coming north the only trouble was the setting sun but timing of the journey would have eliminated that.
Mind you getting home at 3am was fine and on the way south a stop over in the Tewkesbury Riverside carpark then breakfast at Morrisons worked.
