Re: Grey Water
We produce very little grey water, we do our washing up at the site sinks, drinking water is taken for Tea/Coffee/whiskey and ends up in the toilet, my wife uses wipes to wash, I just have a cold swill and showers are taken using the site facilities, consequently I just leave my grey drain tap open.
If we are at a show with no services I still leave the tap open as the norm is to be parked on long wild scrub.

Re: Grey Water
Hi Everyone
I think it is not very nice to dump grey water on your pitch or even on site, some one is going to stay on or near bye your pitch at some time, if the site does not provide grey water disposal I am not sure if I want to stay on that site, It is fairly easy to stop on route and find a roadside drain
to dump grey water.
regards Alan

Re: Grey Water
I have been lead to believe grey water should not be put down roadside drains. It is a view often expounded on forums. They are designed for the relatively clean rain water run off from the road.

Re: Grey Water
Don't the roadside drains normally connect to the sewers? Surely there aren't two separate sets of pipes?TeamRienza wrote:I have been lead to believe grey water should not be put down roadside drains. It is a view often expounded on forums. Re: Grey Water
Where we live, a 15 year old development, the rain water and sewage go into different drainage pipes.

I think this link is typical of many areas of the country.

Re: Grey Water
I sometimes leave our grey water drain open but I always put a bucket under it so that none of it ends up on the pitch.

Re: Grey Water
We’ve just had 3 days on a lovely large site at Rutland Water.
The warden told us to just chuck the grey water in the hedge, something many smaller sites also ask and something I can’t see a problem with if it’s just a bit of washing up or shower water.
