Grey water
We have a 2005 Symbol, which were just getting to grips with in terms of how everything works. Can anyone with a similar vehicle confirm the capacity of the grey water tank, how you tell if it's full ( there's no obvious guage), and how to empty it? The manual we have seems very light on detail in this area.

Re: Grey water
Generally fresh tanks on those vans is 13 gallons and waste water 9 gallons. You have to use your own judgement as to when full using the fresh gauge to guide you (when fresh reads half full, waste will be getting near full.) To empty it, you should have a pipe with a tap on the end clipped by a Terry clip to a sill. Lower it from the Terry clip to empty.

Re: Grey water
When the waste water stops flowing from the sink or shower is a good indication, water gauges on our van are a bit hit and miss.

Our 2002 Pollensa has a little red LED Waste Full indicator just above the fresh water level dial. But by the time this comes on it's nearly backing up to one of the three shower tray outlets!

Re: Grey water
If you leave emptying the grey water tank until it overflows, that's not pleasant. So as a rule of thumb, empty it every time you fill the fresh water tank, or every time you empty the WC. It's not an issue to worry about!

We've had two PVC's without tank gauges and it was never a problem, you just get used to gauging when it needs emptying. As it is owners of those vans with gauges mostly dislike them because they're inaccurate and misleading.

I’m in complete agreement SDA.
Never had gauges on any of my previous vehicles and once you get to know the tank you just know.
My Symbol has tank gauges and to be honest I’ve never checked them to this day.
