Weighty issues
I'm collecting my Duetto auto TD on Monday -- hooray!
I have a question about weight -- do I, as advised, need to weigh everything I put in, bearing in mind that I don't have:
TV
I DO have: (main items)
Fiamma jumbo levellers
Monster mats
THICK sleeping bags
2 gas bottles
coir doormat
A body weighing 121kg
A daughter weighing ?? 140kg
2 memory foam mattress covers
Single leisure battery
So -- do you experienced people reckon I need to weigh everything down to the last knicker and toothbrush, or does that sound quite safe?
Thanks!
Jinny

Re: Weighty issues
Jinny,
Check out your local council weigh bridges and for about £7 they will weigh your van for you.
I suggest that you load up as if you are going away and then go to the weigh bridge.
As a general rule, they like you to give them a phone first but you finish up with an accurate figure that can be waved in front of any interested policeman or breakdown driver.
Alternatively, if you are overweight then you can start making executive decisions before you leave (like "Will I ever need to shower?")!!!
Best regards,
Ian
PS I don't mean to be unkind but it looks like your daughter may need to join Ade's Club!!

Don't forget to fill all three tanks to give you the worst case condition, ideally including your grey water too!

No wonder you suggested that -- I used kilos -- meant lbs!! So she is about 10 stone which puts her well in normal BMI and I'm 8st 10lbs.... She is taller than me!
