replacing underslung gas tank
We replaced the straps holding the underslung gas tank in place last year. There has been some discussion on the forum and Paul Mold has a fact sheet on here relating to 10 year old tanks and recertification. Anyway we had our habitation service done yesterday and the only thing that came up was a slightly corroded pipe from the regulator to the tank and a problem with the regulator as a cover had come off the nozzle that is used to attach the gas pressure testing kit. I contacted the gas tank fitting company and they were very close to adamant that they could not replace the hose and regulator due the age of the rest of the equipment. We are now thinking that we are going to have the whole thing replaced tank, hoses and regulator, as we will most probably keep the van for a little longer and it should be a good selling point at that time. Has anyone had a tank replaced or got any thoughts on the matter?

I've been in touch with Gasit to try to get approximate cost of tank alone and tank with all ancillaries. Also asked if the work could be done at their premises in North Wales (I live there so could be convenient). Unfortunately the only response I got was to contact one of their agents but they could provide me with the part numbers required. Not helpful at all.

Not desperate, tank still looks like new but would be useful to know if any of the ancillary items need replacing.roli wrote:There is an agent in Chester Paul will get details if you need

You may find if you take your vapour box off the tank is not a GASIT tank, it has GASIT sticker on it but the housing shows it to be a GZWM tank. Identical but around 100 pound cheaper.
I thought mine was GASIT until I looked closely, the I realised that what AS do is fit the GZWM tank and use the GASIT remote sender and gauge. Removing the GASIT sticker revealed the true manufacturer. The vapour box is the giveaway, the code numbers are stamped on them
