Fairford in St Andrews
Nice to be able to move about Scotland again with easing of restrictions. Spent the day at West Beach and saw a neat Fairford, think it was a 19 plate.

Bilbo.... the grand kids wanted to be taken to Tentsmuir yesterday but I refused, citing that there would be crowds all doing the same thing. Was it busy ?? Also thought about Kingsbarns.

Landward last night had an item on Tentsmuir where they have been experiencing many more visitors than usual even from within the area.BobK wrote:Bilbo.... the grand kids wanted to be taken to Tentsmuir yesterday but I refused, citing that there would be crowds all doing the same thing. Went to Kingsbarns a couple of days ago (in the car) for a toastie, it was busy but lots of space, however I'd anticipate this weekend being jammed. They have recently completely resurfaced the access road so no more potholes however they had No Parking bollards all the way along the pavements and the passing places so obviously expecting crowds.
Very busy at Ruby Bay, Elie when we went earlier in the week. The sunny weather has drawn the crowds even before the new freedoms on Friday. Pittenweem car park at the top of the brae might be OK, the West Sands at St Andrews will be busy but has loads of room so may be the best bet? If you're in the motorhome then expect a friendly visit from the Rangers late afternoon reminding you it's not permitted to stay overnight!

Bob, don't know if it was busy but our esteemed broadcasters tried their best. It featured, along with Loch Lomond, yesterday with them going on about how good the weather was and how beautiful the scenery was and how they were geared up for a major influx of visitors

Just read in Stirling Observer this morning that the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park planners have finally coming to their senses and approved proposals by Forestry and Land Scotland to improve car parking facilities......starting with the Ben A'an car park . Part of a wider plan to address visitor management issues (they state proudly )

West Sands was much quieter than I expected, saw about a dozen motorhomes over the course of the day. Walked into town after lunch in the van, the queued for about half an hour on South Street for ice cream. Decided at 4.40 we would stay on to tea, ordered fish suppers on line with 6.40pm bring earliest pick up slot available. As expected didget the usual visit from the warden.
