can you give us an up date on your other post ref dpfamtecslim wrote:Thanks for the correction. AS should therefore be in a good position to improve things. Not a partner. They are actually owned by AS. One or two branches get good reviews but generally we know they are poor for after-sales service.
I run a large business myself and it takes only a short time to loose customer confidence if you are not careful.

Re: Kemmerton xl gas leak
Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I noticed a brown sticky fluid dripping from an area just behind near side passenger door.
Not water not coolant not oil.
After some time and a lot of digging I discovered that this is a new thing with the latest engines.
Fluid known by various names but mainly DPF is held in a reservoir and released into the exhaust system to reduce particulates.
This fluid should last for 80000 miles but in my case was leaking. This fluid should not be touched as it is quite harmful.
Eventually under advice from the dealer I took the vehicle to Peugeot in Basingstoke who replaced the fluid and cured the leak all under warranty.

Re: Kemmerton xl gas leak
I have found the gas leak on my new Kemmerton.
Poorly made union on the 8mm pipe going to the water heater caused the sealing nut to crack similar to pictures show in the thread. Dangerous!
I'm paddling my own canoe on this one now.
I reported it to AS over a week ago and received an acknowledgement of receipt but since then nothing.
Nothing from Marquis.

Good luck paddling your own canoe - I had the same difficulty dealing with A/S. A Mr Alan Curry at A/S is the (or was when I had the hassle) the one & only Gas Safe registered ‘engineer’. He told me he’s responsible for the training of their assemblers. He had very limited knowledge of my model of vehicle in particular.amtecslim wrote:I have found the gas leak on my new Kemmerton.

I eventually had meetings with a couple of A/S ‘engineers’ at both NEC & Glasgow motorhome shows, one being Dave Clarkson, the other Dave ?
Ultimately A/S said they carried out an audit of their assembly & protocols and didn’t understand how my van, less than a year old had gas pipework inappropriately made up, assembled incorrectly & inappropriate tools used, but they assured me it was a one-off!
Here’s a thread pertaining to my original issue - does it ring any bells?

Re: Kemmerton xl gas leak
as Marquis have not responded to your request to fix this dangerous issue, tell them (with whom you have your sales contract) in writing that the vehicle is unsafe and that you need it sorted immediately and that you will be engaging a local gas engineer to remedy the fault and that you will be sending them the bill.
get it fixed so that you can use it, then kick Marquis for redress at your (solicitor's?) convenience, not theirs.
good luck.

If you go back earlier in this thread, the purchase was from Nick Whale. The complaint with Marquis is that they wouldn't hep as vehicle wasn't bought from them. I'm certainly not sticking up for Marquis (I wouldn't touch them with someone else's barge pole) but whats the point of sending them the bill.

yes, sorry guys, i see it was NW earlier in the thread...the 'nothing from Marquis' threw me...hence my mistake in assuming they were the dealer..Paulmold wrote:If you go back earlier in this thread, the purchase was from Nick Whale. then the onus is on NW to resolve but we know its a long trip for the customer so they need to be contacted and informed and then asked if a local gas engineer can be used, and the customer reimbursed. this sort of thing shouldnt be too difficult to resolve.
we arent talking about a future hab check etc, this is a safety issue and needs resolving (locally) ASAP.
