1998 Symphony RCD unit
Hi. New member here trying to get to know my Peugeot Symphony. She's old and in need of a little tlc but seems to be very well put together. The manual tells me I need to switch off the circuit breakers before connecting to an EHU - but where are the circuit breakers? I've checked the wardrobe, where the manual says they are - nope! I've looked all over and can't find them. Any ideas please?

agree with Alf , pan cupboard under cooker but to be honest I don't know of anyone who switches them off before connecting to hook up.

Welcome Paul, hope you find your MCB.
Please don't take this as instructions to ignore the manual but I have never, in over 30 years of owning campers/motorhomes, switched off the breakers before connecting the EHU.
I do always connect to the van before the post, disconnecting the post first when leaving, so as not to have a live lead dangling about. I do frequently test the trips once connected.
I also have a socket tester to check for any faults in the supply, such as poor earth or reverse polarity. The latter is often found on sites on the continent where van (and domestic) electrics are made to cope, using double pole switching. I use a short reverse polarity lead if required, although many on here will tell you that is completely unnecessary.

Thanks guys. Back of the cupboard under the cooker, as you said. I did wonder if the switching off was a bit of overkill so I'll ignore that bit.

If you want to play safe trigger the breaker on the service post before plugging in as the last step of wiring up. If there is a problem anywhere the trip will not reset to allow the power on. In practice with a fault this should trip anyway, if it doesn't the job is good.
