Water ingress
Hello,I was horrified to find a serious amount of water in the storage area under bench seat of my Symbol 2008. Bought the vehicle from a very reputable dealer last March, (the day before lockdown!) unable to pick it up until June. We had two or three long weekends away in it and were unaware of any problems with damp
although there was little cause to empty out the storage area until yesterday when I decided to start getting ready to use it for a long awaited trip. Has anyone had similar problems or any idea where the water is coming from, please

I'd contact the dealer & explain, if you haven't had the opportunity to use the van due to lockdown just tell them you are only now aware of the issue, worth a try. Hope you get it sorted.

Is your hot water boiler under the bench? If it is, did you empty it before winter, if not it may have burst with the freezing temps we have had.

Re: Water ingress
Thank you for suggestions, I don’t hold out much hope the warranty was only for 6 months, will certainly try though.
The hot water tank is under bench, I did drain the system down for winter is it possible the hot water tank didn’t empty, I have to admit to being a 70+ year old woman with little skill in dealing with anything too major, am happy to tackle some things.

Re: Water ingress
Even if it did empty, there could still have been water remaining in the pipework which may have split and drained any remaining water under your bench.

That sounds much more hopeful than my nightmare thoughts of what it might be, I can’t seem to access the tank area as the removal of the cover is impeded by the seat, does that have to be removed, a bit beyond me Ithink.

I'm not conversant with the fittings of your van, perhaps someone with that van can help or perhaps a mobile engineer. Your profile shows a Topaz, you need to change that so you get correct answers to questions.

Re: Water ingress
Almost certainly the sliding window o/s. The drain holes are too small and if volume of rain is heavy it overflows between the body and wall. Had two seals replaced and complete window replaced by Peugeot on my 2020 Symbol Plus. After twelve months of hell Marquis who were excellent trying to solve the problem gave me a replacement NEW 2021 model. It looks as if my problems may be solved as we have had several episodes of heavy wind driven rain and so far all ok.

Thank you, I will check the window area, very pleased that you sorted out the problem with your van eventually.
