Hi Mike,
It seems to me (from various sources) that ADAC the German Company is the "Bees Knees".
I will be using them when my existing cover expires ..... covers the Person(s) ..... Driver or Passenger, whatever the Vehicle)

The only problem I can see with ADAC is that you have to have a German postal address. My RAC Arrival through C&CC covers me as driver or passenger in any vehicle so that covers my car and MH.

Hi Paul,
There has been a lot about this subject on another forum and it seems many of them have ADAC cover without a German address .....
I seem to think it was only the method of payment that was a small problem Re: the address and they accept debit cards etc.
One Policy also covers the UK (with the AA as their Agents !!) ..... Very much cheaper than any of the others
Will have another look later ..... away on Hols at the moment.
Brian

This is an issue discssed at length elsewhere on the forum - try this link:

In common with many others I get my cover with our Safeguard motor insurance policy, provided by AA Fleet Europe. I can recommend this: used it three times in 17 years including a repatriation from Germany when the brakes couldn't be repaired - has been pretty straightforward in the main.
Incidentally, I suspect many of us have an insurance issue looming. Safeguard are not alone in specifying a 20 year age limit on motorhomes that they will insure. In three years we'll reach that threshold. Anyone get there yet and found a reasonable solution?

Try this company; [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I used them before I got Insurance which includes cover, but my experience with Europ Assistance was brilliant.
Had a brake master cylinder failure in Bavaria. Limped off the Autobahn using gears and handbrake (not something I recommend but I had little choice!). Phoned them up and they arranged for a truck to come and cart my van off to the nearest Garage. Because it was late afternoon the Garage couldn't do the job until the following day so Europ booked me an Hotel, and I got a Taxi there and back to the Garage the following day when the job was completed at mid-day. Europ paid for the Hotel and Taxi.
Not sure what they charge now but it was only £56 when I was with them.....and the expenses of that one breakdown came to more than that!
Also worth mentioning is they have multi-linguists working with them so no matter what country you break down in, they will be able to help.

Re: annual european break down cover
Why not use a comparison site such as moneysupermarket.com you can see at a glance the cover provided

Re: annual european break down cover
have tried all the sites and the recommends from others here.
much has changed in a year.
have found that the devil is in the detail.
However
quickfit 139.49 current use at 94.00
rescuemycar 134.99
Swintons looked good with 3 months free. However with personal use for any motor they said not motorhomes but would allow vans up to 3500 and caravans.!!
looks like difficult combination with motorhomes and 15 years age.

Re: annual european break down cover
I did a 'Comparison Website' check a couple of years ago and Swintons came out the best.
Phoned them up and I was told I would have to into the branch.
Went into the branch and they told me that they didn't insure motorhomes!!
What a waste of time that was!!
