Battery Charging
My wife and I have recently purchased A Ford Duetto Autosleeper 2000
I currently have it plugged in to my home electrics,
Will this charge up the leisure battery or do I need to purchase a 24 v charger please

Re: Battery Charging
It’s a while since we sold our N - Reg Duetto but there was a battery charger fitted under the cooker for charging on mains hook up. I think there was a rocker switch on the control panel to select leisure or vehicle battery.
If the newer Duetto has a different control panel some one will correct me but it’s almost the same switch on our 55 plate Rienza.

Re: Battery Charging
I have just got a duetto 2006. Does the charger do both batteries? Is it permissible to use a solar charger at the same time via cigarette charger? As you can tell I am new to this van and concerned about the cold weather.

Re battery charging
Hi
2006 Duetto…..the built in charger should charge the battery selected on the control panel…HAB/VEH switch centre off
Hope this helps…..Dave h

Assuming that the cig lighter is "live" when the ignition is off (I think it generally is on a Transit) then yes - it should cause no problem. A large panel will need its own controller (most on-dash panels have them built-in these days) or there is a risk that it could over-charge the battery in full sunlight (though unlikely at this time of year!).
