Battery charging
I have an 05 neuvo, as I understand it when I am driving both batteries are charged simultaneously.
There is a three way rocker switch on the control panel and I thought that if it was set to the vehicle option, and plugged into mains, that the vehicle battery would be charged and if set to the habitation option that the habitation battery would be charged. I have since read that this is not so and that it is not possible to charge the vehicle battery through the mains - can anyone enlighten me. Also what happens when the switch is set in the middle option.
Sorry if I appear a bit thick but the vehicle is new to me and on my previous one I could switch between charging either battery.

Re: Battery charging
The central position is 12v in the van - Off, If the switch is to the vehicle position it means your 12v supply is coming from the vans battery whereas if its in the habitation position its running off the leisure battery.
There is a device called a Battery Master which can be put into the system which will allow charging from mains to the van battery. It is used a lot when solar panels are fitted so the panel will charge the van battery to compensate for drainage due to alarm systems etc. If you dont feel capable firms like Dave Newell (details in the forum) will be happy to quote you for supply and fit for you.
Dont say you are thick, I am sure that is not the case. You are being sensible in asking. Thats what this forum is for.
I know some people who bought three van batteries (not an A-S van) in 5 years because they didn't read the panel instructions and ran the habitation 12v of the vans battery. Watched TV all night plus lights &etc transmission was auto so towing was out when it wouldnt start - the problems and cost they had through not asking.

Re: Battery charging
Hello mikedepledge .... I was surprised at the previous post ... the rocker switch allows the selection of charging either the vehicle battery or the leisure battery from the mains hook up . I am reading this from my A.S manual quote " It will allow you to choose which battery is being charged, either leisure/vehicle battery using the 230V charging system". My van is the same year as yours and from your desc. has the same control panel. I however cannot establish if it would discharge the vehicle battery if you left the rocker switch in the "vehicle" position without the hook up connected. I would be surprised if it discharges the vehicle battery - it would defeat the purpose of having a seperate leisure battery!
A phone call to A.S. or one of their dealers might clear this up.
regards Bob

Battery charger
Thanks for this information, it is basically what I had originally believed but I was subsequently told that it was not possible to charge the main battery on my 05 model.
