Ceiling Vent Sliding Cover Problem
Hi all
We have a ceiling vent just as we enter the motorhome through the hab door.
The part that sldes back and forth as a blind is really stiff to move. I was wondering if any of you have had a similar issue and whether there is a fix or whether we need a new one (and best place to get one).
Thanks in advance...

Re: Ceiling Vent Sliding Cover Problem
This is a constant problem particularly at this time of year the return springs seem to lose their tension in cold weather. The the groove or edge that the cover/blind runs on get dirty and gives fiction, a clean with WD40 helps with that. I still have a little sample of PTFE grease, a small amount of that makes thing slide even better.
You don't say whether you have a blind and a mesh/fly screen. These always run better when the two are joined together. This applies to the vertical window blinds too.

Hi Marconi
Thank you. There is a mesh flyscreen just above the sliding blind which drops down. Will certainly have a look at getting some ptfe grease though...
