Oven is not getting to temp
I have a 2014 Burford the oven doesn't get up to temp.
The flame starts really high and stays like that, it doesn't cut back when the temp set is reached , it still will not get up to any decent temperature, put some chicken legs in, set oven on 6 and a hour later they were still not cooked.
anyone else having the same problem.

I had the same problem in an oven, it turned out that the glass wasn’t fitted correctly....I purchased an oven thermostat to check what temperature I was actually getting

Is heat leaking from around the edges of the door, in which case you likely need a new door seal. I assume it is a crapice oven?

Try trapping a piece of a 4 between door and oven to see if it gives a good fit. You must be losing heat someware

Re: Oven is not getting to temp
After substantial investigations, I have discovered it amazing how anything gets cooked properly in these Thetford caprice Mk 3 ovens.
Testing involved accurate temperature measurement of the Top and middle of the oven .
My investigation also turned up something surprising. to get the best temperature from your oven it is best to set your oven Temperature much higher than required ,once higher temp is reached turn the oven down to the required temperature , turning the oven down to the temp instead of turning it straight up to the correct temp gave an extra 20 deg c in the oven.
The following are the Temperatures that was measured when reducing the set temps from
Gas 9. All temps are Deg C
Gas mark Temp for gas mark actual temp middle Actual temp Top
1 140 125 170
2 150 133 182
3 165 140 194
4 177 159 217
5 190 169 232
6 200 174 242
7 220 190 267
8 230 196 272
9 245 208 284
Hope this helps the next time you do pizza and oven chips.

We have a 2015 Beckford with the same oven
After a similar experience my wife advises to move the oven rack higher and cook on the 8 setting. Oven now cooks very well

Re: Oven is not getting to temp
Its a matter of familiarity, I have no problem with the Caprice in the van but my wife does - guess who uses it most?
We had the reverse problem with the Bosch fan oven at home, measuring temperature as above it was found to be around 15°C above what it was set at.
