I think it's the little lump under the driver's side mirror - but I could be wrong!Hoopman wrote:Most likely to be in one of your wing mirrors

Re: Cab outdoor temp sender
On my nuevo it was in the wing mirror. However following an incident in Scotland, where another driver kindly removed the original, it now sits in the door. I had searched the internet for the wingmirror with senor built in, only to find I had more chance of geeting a set of hens teeth!
Solution remover the old sensor from the old wing mirror and hide it in the door. It does mean that the temp is a little unreliable but eveything seems to work ok which it didn't without the sensor in place.
I therefore assume the sun was beating down on your wingmirror in a sheltered place and hence the high temp. Otherwise the sensor in broken and will, i fear, be difficult to replace.

I have to ask if it's worth the bother?crisp wrote:Otherwise the sensor in broken and will, i fear, be difficult to replace.
I doubt if I've looked at our outdoor sensor reading twice in ten years. I have this amazing sixth sense you see . . . the minute I open the door I can tell if it's sweltering, just right, or more often than not - just cold, wet and miserable!!

Of course - but to clarify the question I was posing . . . .Molly3 wrote:On a nearly new van I would like things to work properly,
Some of the bells and whistles fitted to MHs, cars, domestic ovens, washing machines etc., are hardly worth having anyway, and many of them are rarely if ever used. If it's going to be a real hassle to fix the sensor (as Crisp suggests) is it worth it?
It wouldn't be for me, but fortunately we all differ - or it would be a boring old world.

Re: Cab outdoor temp sender
The sensor I have was actually fitted in the mirror, the wires running through the arm so there was nothing to see unless you have it smashed apart!!.
I'd go with the The sun is shining it feels hot " or "the sun is shing but its still cold version" unless you can get it done under warranty.

Had mine fixed under warranty. A complete, new, offside wing mirror.
